The MacHams

The MacHams = 3 brothers and a guy named Coro!

We’ve had fun at the Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace, The Reverb, Kathedral, Smiling Buddha, Opera House, The Blue Moon Pub, etc…

Recently, we made it to Mazda Musik Tour’s finalists’ showcase in Toronto

 

Bottom line:  we put on a great show and we’re fun!  =D

 

So…where did we get the name?

In the beginning, mom comes downstairs only to find us trying to look cool with our instruments. “What a bunch of machams!”, she yells.  Puzzled, we think, “Huh? What does that mean?”  Apparently, calling someone a macham (or maqam) is to call them a show-off BUT literally it is a term used in Arabic music for a type of scale.  So we took the word and made it look like a Scottish last name! – The MacHams

(FYI, 3/4 of us are actually of Armenian descent)
